FORM 2019
Form is the event dedicated to the dairy art that since 2015 takes place at Bergamo.
The city is not defined by chance European capital of cheeses as it has the European record of DOP cheese: ben 9 delle 50 DOP national are in fact produced on the territory of the province.
The fourth edition that just ended presented a very rich programme.
Dal 17 al 20 october the Bergamo Fair hosted tastings, exhibition-market, stand gastronomici, informative stands of large institutions and the B2Cheese section for sector operators.
In taste for the public, in addition to 9 DOP from Bergamo (Bitto, Mute format, Gorgonzola, Grana Padano, Provolone Valpadana, Quartirolo, Save Cremasco, Too much, Taleggio cheese), the Principi delle Orobie cheeses, the others 5 PDO from Lombardy (Formaggella from Luino, Parmigiano Reggiano, Nostrano Valtrompia, Silter, Valtellina Casera) and some of the Italian PDO cheeses.
Numerous i Cheese Lab, guided tastings byOnaf – National Organization of Cheese Tasters, in collaboration with the Valcalepio Protection Consortium and the Grana Padano Protection Consortium.
The workshop “Spain and Portugal, a cheese bullfight” offered a selection of representative cheeses from the Iberian peninsula, among which San Simón Da Costa PDO, PDO Manchego Cheese, Torta del Casar DOP and Juniper, while "Pecorini from the history of Italy from Sicily passing through Tuscany and up to the Alps" illustrated the characteristics of Roman pecorino, toscano, Sicilian and pit, analyzing their smells, flavors and aromas.
The booth of the Lombardy region offered a cognitive path of Lombard PDO cheeses.

Furthermore, this year Forme was the venue for the thirty-second edition of the World Cheese Awards, the most important world event of the dairy art, for the first time in Italy.
Oltre 250 international judges have elected the best cheese in the world 2019, tra i 3.804 products from all continents. By a very narrow extent won the Rogue River Blue, blue cheese produced by the US company Rogue Creamery of Oregon, with the particularity of being wrapped in Syrah vine leaves soaked in pear liqueur.
And there was also another first time for the event: the first took place there National Competition Best Taster of the Year Onaf, in which I had the honor of participating as a competitor. For me it was a huge emotion. A race in which I participated not with the spirit of competition, but a healthy comparison, with the desire to learn and improve further. And I am very proud of the eighth place I conquered, su 27 participants from all over Italy.
All in all, Forme is an event I really liked. Excellent organization, the possibility of buying tickets online, the low prices and the professionalism of the Onaf tasters, the big family to which I consider myself honored to belong.
An opportunity to discover the great world of cheese, to shop and get to know Bergamo, the city at the foot of the Orobie Prealps.
