SUMMERWEEN 2026 IN PIGNATARO MAGGIORE
If skeletons and ghosts are your crush and Halloween just once a year isn't enough for you, niente paura: it's summertime!
Sabato 4 luglio, from 18 at midnight, The Pumpkin Garden of Pignataro Maggiore hosted the second edition of Summerween, the largest summer Halloween in Italy created by Emily Turino. An event that brings the spookiest atmosphere of the year into the heart of summer and gives a taste of the season of the hearts of many fans: autumn, with its pumpkins and warm-colored leaves.
And since pumpkin is to autumn what watermelon is to summer, Summerween was filled with juicy baby watermelons, to collect, to decorate and also to enjoy.
For one evening there was a Watermelon Patch to welcome visitors, a haunted watermelon field colonized by skeletons and ghosts.
Great fun for adults with the open-air cinema and astronomy lesson with stargazing, but above all for children, who were able to participate in the workshop to learn how to preserve watermelon, have fun with "Trick or Treat" together with a friendly ghost and have fun in the play area. To close the evening, a fireworks display, that illuminated this magical night.
Summer theme also forarea food, come sempre vegetarian-friendly. Among the many specialties available: fiori di zucca fritti, collected during the maximum flowering period of the plants; butter-roasted corn on the cob, symbol of rural American atmospheres; Summerween Salad with melon and feta; “S’mores”, typical Made in USA snacks to prepare on the stove, based on crackers, chocolate and marshmallows, and delicious slices of yellow watermelon, aromatic and sugary.
