MARIGLIAN TASTE RESTAURANT PIZZERIA
It opened its doors in June, but officially inaugurated on September 1st Taste Marigliano, pizza restaurant in Via Medina a Naples.
A project born from the experience of the family Marigliano, who has been practicing white art for generations (Antonio Marigliano had a fry shop in Vico Soprammuro in Naples) and who has been working in the Neapolitan hinterland since the 1990s (Antica Pizzeria Marigliano and Raffaela Marigliano Pizzeria in San Giorgio a Cremano) and in Cilento (Marigliano terrace in Agnone Cilento and Like Over The Sea in Agropoli).
The name Marigliano now returns to the Campania capital thanks to Raffaela Marigliano and her partner Antonio Marseglia, creators of the new Gusto Marigliano format that combines catering and the art of pizza.
THE LOCAL
The place is all wood and majolica, with the two pizza ovens at sight, at the end of the long hall.
THE PROPOSAL
The restaurant menu led by the chef Ciro Vavalà offers creative dishes and traditional Campania recipes in a contemporary way, with the use of many Slow Food presidia among the ingredients.
The pizza is obviously Neapolitan, declined in "Ancient Flavors" – with the queens Margherita and Marinara in different versions – and “Nuove Espressioni” characterized by the search for raw materials and original combinations.
The food pairing is with beers, in particular with the whole range of the craft brewery KBirr.
THE TASTING
We had the opportunity to try a taste of the menu thanks to the presentation reserved for the press by GD Comunicazione.
Among the whims, Classic pasta omelette and croquettes of Iberian chorizo and PDO piquillo. In abbinamento, KBirr Natavota, Fresh and thirst-quenching lager, perfect with fried food.
The Acquasale del Cilento recalls the adventure of the family in the Cilento land: Toasted bread soaked in sea water, tomato and oregano, enriched with tuna fillet and olives. Cilento also extra virgin olive oil, Incipit by Marco Rizzo (cultivate Nostrale). Anche in questo caso, pairing con KBirr Natavota.
The appetizer is unusual and surprisingly delicate: Onion stuffed with lamb cooked in the oven on parmesan sauce. In the glass, KBirr Heart of Naples, American Pale Ale with citrus and spicy notes.
Very intense taste for the September sea Puttanesca. For such a powerful dish, KBirr Natavota Red, Strong Ale with an important alcohol content but with a sweet tendency, to be combined also with Marinara Gold with yellow tomato, wild garlic pesto, chopped Ferrandina olives, wild oregano, anchovies from Cetara with their sauce.
Two samples for dessert: Ricotta and pear with black salt pastry and Tiramisu, served with KBirr Paliata, Imperial Stout with toasted notes, which goes well with dark chocolate and coffee desserts.
