At Martinelli Cafè Breakfast has the taste of lightness
The breakfast of Martinelli Café of Aversa it is one of our favorites in Campania.
We are regular visitors to the pastry shops of Biagio Martinelli for a few years, anche (and above all) beyond the meetings dedicated to the press, so we had the opportunity to try different specialties at various times of the day.
We definitely have a soft spot for the assortment of pastries of the house.
Let's start with the classics, exquisite and light at the same time thanks to the use of the highest quality ingredients and the great technical mastery of Biagio Martinelli (than in 2022 entered the Young Leaveners section of the Academy of Masters of Mother Yeast and Italian Panettone).
Il Croissant and the Chocolate bread they are browsed to perfection, and rich in very fragrant butter.
Precisely because of the high percentage of butter and the flaking, they are not served hot, as happens instead with the Italian croissant (which also has eggs in the dough, and often uses vegetable margarine instead of butter, which has a higher melting point).
A classic French pastry shop but with a local touch Swiss bread Caprese style, with chocolate cream and almonds.
Among the most contemporary creations, the Cruffin (cross between croissant and muffin) Illy espresso coffee with lemon-scented mascarpone cream.
Interpretation of the viral trend of the moment Dubai pistachio puff pastry brioche: the dough is that of a Venetian puff pastry, while the filling is a combination of crunchy kataifi dough (cooked in an air fryer), pistachio (which gives a salty touch), Pistachio and milk chocolate praline.
There is no shortage of delicious savory options for those who prefer a non-sweet breakfast, like the pecorino croissant stuffed with bresaola, semi-dry cherry tomatoes and wild rocket and the savory Pain with smoked ham and sweet provolone.
In the coffee shop section, in addition to espresso – which here is single origin Arabica Selection Brazil Illy selection -, there are Cold brew coffees, Flat white, tea squid caldo the fridge, Dammann Frères selection infusions.
There is always a good reason to come to Martinelli Cafè: for the Polish Aversana, for a sweet break, for a drink, for after dinner.
We suggest trying everything, a little at a time, starting right from breakfast, to appreciate one of the Martinelli flagships: the leavened ones, appunto.
Then don't say we didn't tell you 😉
