THE PHOENIX, PINA MOLITIERNO REOPENS IN CASERTA WITH ICE CREAM, ARTISAN YOGURT AND SLUSHES
New evocative name, The Phoenix, same stuff as always: la maestra gelatiera By Molitierno has reopened in Caserta, in the same room that had already hosted his previous creature Vanilla Ice.
PINA MOLITIERNO, HISTORY
Pina Molitierno is an ice cream virtuoso, a tireless perfectionist: in fact, he studied with all the best professionals in the ice cream sector, pastry and chocolate shop, like Rolando Morandin, Gino Fabbri, Rossano Vinciarelli, Mario Morri, Carola Stacchezzini, Christian Beduschi, Luca Montersino, Giampaolo Valli.
It dates back to 2009 the opening of the first ice cream shop Vanilla Ice in Santa Maria Capua Vetere, followed by the move to 2013 on Corso Trieste in Caserta; a position that after a while was penalized by the ban on vehicular transit due to the Limited Traffic Zone.
Nel 2016 Vanilla Ice changed location and appearance, becoming Vanilla Ice Lab, laboratory aimed mainly at the catering sector.
But Pina Molitierno then preferred business consultancy and training experiences to the walls of the laboratory, also internationally. And there was no shortage of academic incursions either, thanks to its artisanal ice cream with extra virgin olive oil, protagonist of studies conducted in collaboration with the University of Naples "Federico II".
Until the "return to origins" with the reopening of the ice cream shop 4 last July at the same address that had already hosted her in the past.
LA FENICE GELATO & ARTISAN YOGURTERY
La Fenice was born in the name of continuity, and it even goes further.
The always top quality of the ice cream is also accompanied by the low environmental impact thanks to the latest generation machinery, which allow significant water and energy savings compared to traditional ones. Furthermore, the reduced use of sugar also contributes to moderating energy consumption, as it allows you to keep the display case at a lower temperature, more measured.
Only one imperative in the choice of ingredients: never settle for anything less than the best.
Fresh milk, fresh fruit of the season.
Between 24 e i 36 ice cream flavors available, from the very traditional to the gastronomic ones, proposed periodically. Non-artificial colors and masses that do not overflow from the trays.
Among the strong points is the lemon and basil sorbet, very fresh and aromatic.
The buffalo mozzarella ice cream is simply amazing (very difficult ingredient to treat because it often remains lumpy: but here it is artfully crafted), to be enjoyed as an aperitif or paired with savory dishes.
The latest innovation from the house is the Buffoncello flavor with buffalo milk and limoncello.
You'll recognize Pina Molitierno's ice cream among a thousand. Little sugar, with an intense flavour, not fat on the palate. Thrilling.
THE TASTING
In the evening presentation to the press organized by the journalist Laura Gambacorta, there were two friends supporting Pina, lo chef Simone Profeta (The Inn of the Prophet of Naples) e il mixologist Francesco Cibelli (Cibelli Cafe, Nocera Inferiore), who offered some preparations made with La Fenice ice cream.
So far the journalistic report.
Speaking from the heart, because I have known her personally for a decade, I can only wish Pina the best of luck for this new beginning.
