1947 PIZZA FRITTA, 10 YEARS OF ACTIVITY AND A SOLIDARITY PIZZA DEDICATED TO MARISA LAURITO
He just celebrated 10 years of activity 1947 Fried Pizza, the pizzeria of Vincenzo Durante in the heart of Forcella.
In these times, reaching the tenth anniversary represents a real achievement: it not only indicates success, but also having created a strong bond with the neighborhood, one of the most authentic in the city. A deep bond, which could not be celebrated with the usual candles.
And precisely to give a concrete signal to the neighborhood, we chose to celebrate this important anniversary with asolidarity initiative: the creation of one special pizza, the proceeds of which will be used to purchase musical instruments for the Piccola Orchestra di Forcella which operates in House of Music.
This is fried pizza “Marisa”, dedicated to the famous Neapolitan actress Marisa Laurito. A dedication that is anything but casual: Marisa Laurito, artistic director of Trianon Theater located a few steps from the pizzeria, she is linked to Vincenzo Durante by a long friendship. Its name represents culture, commitment and rooting in the neighborhood.
The patroness of the initiative was present in the pizzeria during the press presentation evening, organized by journalist Laura Gambacorta.
An informal and warm occasion, in which Marisa Laurito was able to preview the pizza dedicated to her: a fried stuffed with Genoese cream, provola, pecorino, pepper and basil. A meeting of intense and enveloping flavors that the actress particularly appreciated.
The entire proceeds from Marisa pizzas sold between 12 novembre 2025 and the 6 gennaio 2026 will be donated – immediately after the Epiphany – all’L'Altra Napoli EF Association which through the Porta dei Sogni Project offers free musical courses to children and young people from the complex neighborhoods of Naples belonging to families with economic and social hardship.
Among the fries that have marked these ten years of history of the pizzeria, Carmela stands out, dedicated to Vincenzo's mother. A tribute to family roots, already celebrated in the name of the pizzeria, 1947, the year of birth of the father, Gennaro.
Carmela is the classic fried dish par excellence, stuffed with provola, cicoli, pomodoro, pepper and basil, strictly without ricotta, according to the Forcella tradition, as reiterated by Durante.
The Yellow Face, con provola, salted cacioricotta, pomodorini gialli, chili pepper and basil, instead it pays homage to both the patron saint of Naples (San Gennaro, aka Yellow Face) and to his father Gennaro.
The tasting then left room for two new proposals - one savory and one sweet - created in collaboration with Francesco Francione, chef of the “Quostro” bistro of the Foqus foundation.
The South, with 'nduja, bran pepper, burrata and lemon zest, combines typical ingredients of the southern regions; it is a recipe that the chef usually uses to season pasta and that he wanted to share with Durante out of friendship, turning it into a special fried pizza.
In abbinamento alle pizze, i vini di Cantine Astroni, represented on this occasion by the marketing and communications manager Cristina Varchetta.
Closing with the original pizza cannolo, a fried waffle filled with buffalo ricotta, Piennolo cherry tomato compote, drops of fondant and cherry tomato powder, paired with marsala (a classic combination of the Neapolitan tradition).

Vincenzo Durante's pizzas, warm, scented and "blonde blondes" as tradition dictates, they bring back memories of days gone by, those after the Second World War, when the ladies fried in the street and you could pay even after eight days. But at the same time, thanks to the new commitment of the pizzeria, aromas and flavors look forward, projecting the neighborhood towards a future made of culture, music and new opportunities.
