EXTRABIO AWARD 2020, THE WINNERS

It took place on Thursday 9 luglio 2020 presso la Chamber of Commerce of Naples the awards ceremony for the Extrabio Award 2020, competition reserved exclusively for Extra Virgin Olive Oils from Campania obtained from olives certified as organic.
An award ceremony in a reduced form and in compliance with the containment and anti-contagion measures from Covid-19, but extremely significant, as evidence of the very high level of quality and extraordinary biodiversity of the regional olive growing panorama.
The competition, nato nel 2006, it is the result of the synergy between the Campania Region con la Coldiretti Campania regional federation, the Camera di Commercio di Napoli, Yes Enterprise and theAssociation of Associated Sensory Analysts.
This year too, the response from the regional organic sector was surprising: among the applications received from companies, have been selected 46, along with 54 oils admitted to the competition.
The Agriculture Area manager of the Campania Region took part in the ceremony Brunella Mercadante, the president of Si Impresa and vice president of the Naples Chamber of Commerce Fabrizio Luongo, the head of the panel of the Naples Chamber of Commerce Maria Luisa Ambrosino and the manager of Donne Impresa Coldiretti Campania and president of Agrimercato San Paolo (di cui abbiamo parlato which) Valentin Stinga.

These are the winners:
– Category Light fruity: Villa Sorbo, Galluccio (Ce)
– Category Medium fruity: Roman estate, Ponte (Bn)
– Category Intense fruity: FAM, Venticano (Of)
– Award Biolabel: Augusto de Martini, Fragneto the Abbot (Bn)

Quest’anno, in addition to the prizes traditionally awarded, were introduced i provincial awards for companies that have particularly distinguished themselves for the oil obtained:
Province of Naples: The Bulls, Massa Lubrense
Province of Avellino: Case d’Alto, Grottaminarda
Province of Benevento: Torre a Oriente, Torrecuso
Province of Caserta: The Plain, Capua
Province of Salerno: White stone, Casalvelino
As a taster in the process of registering in the national list of technicians and experts in virgin and extra virgin olive oils, I am proud to contribute to the communication and valorisation of oil, in particular the one from Campania 🙂
