LUMINIST IS THE MOST VISIONARY RESTAURANT IN ITALY
Luminist, in Galleries of Italy of Naples, it is the most visionary restaurant in Italy.
This is what emerged from the newborn project Visionary Places, ideato da Gambero Rosso, Artribute and Feudi di San Gregorio (signature winery in Sorbo Serpico in the province of Avellino, di cui abbiamo parlato which).
This initiative aims to identify and enhance the most visionary proposals, that is, those restaurants capable of standing out thanks to a series of requirements such as entrepreneurial vision, ability to generate well-being, gastronomic offer, innovation, relationship with art, architecture and design.
The first edition of Visionary Places was launched on Tuesday 4 May at the Gallerie d'Italia headquarters in Naples, Intesa Sanpaolo museum. The presentation marked the first release of Lorenzo Ruggeri as the new managing director of Gambero Rosso.
A real scientific committee was born to select the visionary restaurants, including representatives from the world of gastronomy, of art and culture. After identifying around thirty restaurants that embodied the required qualities, the Committee selected a top ten and decreed this year's winners.
The gold medal went to Luminist, a brilliant example of museum refreshment inside the Gallerie d'Italia in Naples.
Second place for SanBrite of Cortina d'Ampezzo, part of a gastronomic organism that also includes breeding and dairy farming.
Bronze medal for I am Luigi Taglienti of Piacenza, born in synergy with the Volumnia art and design gallery which returned a precious deconsecrated church to the city.
They follow on equal merit:
– AlpiNN – Food Space & Restaurant a Kronplatz (Bolzano)
– Tower restaurant in the Prada Foundation in Milan
– Salt of San Vincenzo (Livorno)
– Arnolfo a Colle Val d’Elsa (Siena)
– Bunch smell
– Inside smell
– Vettor in Bari.
Intesa Sanpaolo's Gallerie d'Italia is a place where art coexists, history, architecture, gastronomia.
The building, former historic headquarters of the Banco di Napoli, it is also known by the name of Piacentini Palace, named after the architect Marcello Piacentini who designed it at the end of the 1930s. Nel 2022 the Gallerie d'Italia Naples were inaugurated with an architectural redevelopment project.

Today the headquarters includes, in addition to the permanent collections of art masterpieces arranged on two floors, the bistro café Luminist ground floor, il fine dining 177Toledo, il cocktail bar Anthill and the terrace for Brunch on the Roof on the fifth floor. A multifaceted system orchestrated by Joseph Iannotti, chef and owner of the two Michelin star restaurant Krèsios di Telese Terme (of which we have been unconditional admirers for years: our first visit dates back to 2012), which puts the Neapolitan museum center on a par with international ones (for example the National Gallery in London with its restaurant Ochre).
Naples is increasingly the place where great visions take shape. Thanks to the visionaries who make all this possible 🙂
